When I started photography I was an animal photographer and I loved heading to the zoo and spending hours there. What I came to realise though, is that I didn't want to just photograph "a gorilla" or "a tiger", I wanted to capture that individual. So I spent time waiting and watching and before long I knew the names of some of the animals, I even had Kiani the Orangutan look at the images at the back of my camera.

So when I became a newborn and family photographer, I wanted the same thing. I might literally see a few hundred babies a year and there might be a million mothers all over the world giving birth right now, but I understand that when it happens to you, it doesn't matter how many people have been there before you. You're not just another person and honestly, you deserve a photographer that is going to look at the tiny person you made and be just a little bit wowed by them.

And I am! Every time a baby comes in that I photographed the maternity session for, I'm still a bit in awe that they were in their mum's belly while I was photographing them.

It never gets old seeing people fall in love with their babies and family. Never.
